Despite our differing roles and qualities, we share the same values. We understand and embrace the need for mental health awareness inside and outside of work and are people centric with excellent communication skills. However, we’re no strangers to the corporate world and all possess a unique ability to balance our love for HR and people with a strong commerciality that we believe is essential to survival in the modern workplace.

SARAH – Neuroscience Geek and Proprietor of The HR Hive

Sarah studied Anthropology and Sociology at Durham University where her love of psychology, behaviour and culture really took hold. She stayed to complete a Masters. Sarah has worked across a spectrum of sectors, including financial services, leisure and retail.

Obsessed with neuroscience and HR, Sarah founded The HR Hive in 2016. In 2019 she created the first and only mental health first aid kit of its kind; The Woosah Kit. Whilst she really loves her work, she loves nothing more than snuggles with her fur babies; Bruce Springersteen and Hugo, a rescue from Spain.

Sarah is MCIPD qualified, practices CBT, NLP and is an accredited Mental Health First Aid Instructor for MHFA England. Sarah is based in Yorkshire but works as a HR Consultant nationwide.

EMMA – Fountain of all HR Knowledge and Systems Expert

With over 15 years experience in senior HR roles in public services and retail, Emma is pursuing her next phase as an HR Consultant within the HR Hive. She possesses a unique quality in her love for systems and technology and advocates investment in acquiring RTI to drive strategic business decisions. She blends this with excellent communication skills to present as a highly successful people lead wherever she works. She’s based in Hull, bringing up a young family with husband Gareth.

Emma is MICIPD Level 7 qualified and a Mental Health First Aider.

AMY – Master of Communication Skills and Queen of Operations

Having spent the majority of her career working in agencies, Amy is all for structured project management and client servicing that’s second to none. She is highly experienced in internal communications with a strong marketing background and CIM Diploma. She loves to write and embark upon creative projects, but more than anything, thrives from human interaction and a meaty HR problem to solve. She has recently started studying Transactional Analysis to apply this to workplace therapy and coaching.

Based in the suburbs of Manchester, Amy has a Jackahuahua called Tiger and a mini-me daughter.

ALI – All Round Likeable Person and Chief Opener of Doors

With experience across creative industries in marketing, comms and sales, Ali joined the HR Hive after finding a shared passion for mental health awareness. She has three children and lives in the suburbs of Manchester with husband Patrick and an energetic pup.
